I have lived in Southampton for over 25 years and have been teaching privately for over 30 years.

I have a 100% (99.98) pass rate for ABRSM and Trinity Exams and my last five Grade 8 entries all got distinctions. I have recently taught myself Jazz and my last threeTrinity Jazz flute entries also got distinctions ( two of which were Grade 8).

I have had pupils that have been inspired by myself and have become peripatetic teachers for the local music service and I have had one pupil who went to the Birmingham Conservatoire. I also have worked for  Hampshire Music Service and Southampton Music Service and still continue to work  Privately  at Wildern Secondary School and Itchen Abbas Primary Schools.

Besides teaching I play , and have played, in many ensembles. the Southampton Concert Orchestra , Thornden Community Wind Band and the pit orchestra for Eastleigh Operatic Society and Thornden Community Choir and School Productions.

I have also had the experience of playing many concertos with lots of local and national orchestras. Some local ones being Northwood String Orchestra ,in which twice, I played the Vivaldi Double Flute Concerto with ex-pupils Rebecca Weatherall (200O) and Adam Knott  (2010).  The Mozart Concerto in G with Marchwood Orchestra and the Chaminade Concertino with the Southampton Concert Orchestra. I also played Flight of the Bumble Bee from memory, as I have so far with all my solo performances, with the City of Southampton Orchestra (2000).

Due to bringing up a beautiful family I have continued teaching and putting all my energy into inspiring new musicians but for the moment solo work has been put on hold.

Nationally I have performed the Mozart Flute Concertos in G and D ,Telemann Double Concerto for Recorder and Flute and the Bach Suite in B minor on my Wooden Flute

As well as eating, breathing and playing music I like to do a lot of crafting.

I love to paint cheap ukuleles and also have knitted one, made one out of Lego and even one out of lollipop sticks ( see above). I also make models out of old instruments. I have made an owl, and two hedgehogs out of old single and double reeds, a phoenix out of reed covers and had a model made out of old instruments on display in the d.@rt centre. I also make Toppers for instruments which I sell.
